This morning, a few of us got together for an unofficial time of worship at the building. It was great to get together on our day off just to be with one another and worship our Lord together. Thanks to the guys who led the time and to the ladies who provided breakfast. All the songs were great and I was edified by most if not all of them. One of the lines that stood out was from a song that was an oldie but a goodie: "He is able, more than able, to do much more than I could ever dream..." All of us have dreams and aspirations that we'd love to accomplish or desire to happen: graduate college, get a job, own a house, get married, have kids, be successful. These things are all great, and there's nothing wrong with them. Obviously if they become more important than your relationship with God, then it is unhealthy and becomes an idol. But it is good to dream and desire the things that will please and bring glory to God. Even our greatest dreams, things that seem impossible, God can accomplish them. It's not difficult for Him. He can do much more than we can ever dream. Our God is gracious, and He blesses abundantly - beyond what we ask for or can think of. And our response to this? Thanks and praise and glory to Him. "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen."(Ephesians 3:20-21)
